Description
The Barracuda 3D models are excellent boards for riding in coastal powder conditions where the snow can be heavy, wet and dense. They are also the best choice for handling shallow powder and variable conditions.
A long, drawn out nose cuts effortlessly through the snow maximizing speed and float while the set-back, short radius sidecut and slightly flared crescent tail give it tight turning ability and a forgiving ride in variable conditions and shallow or settled pow. Great for weaving tight trees, ripping steep lines, and navigating technical terrain. While it won’t have as “floaty” and “surfy” of a feel than models like the Powder Slut, Great White and Phish, this board can handle the less than ideal conditions better than any board in the line.
The CDC 3-Dimensional Base offeres the highest level of performance. Our 3-Dimensional Bases are specially designed to give the rider more precision board control and better performance in all conditions. The convex nose transitions smoothly into a double concave at the contact point of the rails, displacing and channeling snow to create better float, more speed, increased leverage to the rail and even better board feel. This enhanced interface between rider, board and snow makes a significant difference in the rider’s board control in every condition and especially when conditions are shallow or variable. More bite in your turns means better response to your movements, increasing agility and the ability to lay even deeper into your turns.

I’ve ridden tons and tons of different powsurfers over the years, and the Grassroots Barracuda 140 3D is my all time favorite! It fits my foot perfectly (size 8.5), allowing for easy turn initiation. The rocker is perfect for riding steeper lines and not feeling out of control. It is my go-to board for riding Second Turn on Teton Pass. Make one turn on this beauty and your life will change forever!

My go to for steep tight trees or up to 10in spring snow. Works really well in variable conditions too.

Cuts through all types of snow, including windbuffed and inconsistent pow. When I’m itching to powsurf and conditions are not bottomless this is the board I reach for. Also works good in ideal powsurf conditions and turns just like a snowboard but not quite as floaty and fast in the really deep snow when compared to the Powderslut and Flying Carpet models. Hi Jeremy,
got my Barracuda last week and had to ride it instantly. Only problem: they are already selling icecream to shortsleeved people in the streets here. So we had do go pretty high to find some pow. That led to some very scary first turns. On rockcovered slopes. But it was so worth it. When you finally find the right position and link some turns – that feels so damn good. But whom do i tell that?

That board is nearly too pretty to ride it
