Description
Don’t be fooled by it’s short seeming length, the Flying Carpet Powsurfer 140cm is packing serious volume from nose to tail giving it excellent floatation, agility and pop. This makes for a very playful ride and allows the rider to get as aggressive as they’d like. A high-volume, compact and convex shovel nose keeps the Flying Carpet Powsurfer 140cm easily afloat and allows the rider the option to move around and ride this board in more forward weighted positions. Each stance position gives the board a different feel in the turns, so that freedom in your feet translates to a variety of ride/feels on the same board. Characteristics of this board create a high-speed ride in the steeper slopes that can hold speed well thru flats and mellow terrain. Traditional sidecut, high volume nose/ waist width combined with our CDC 3-dimensional base make this board feel as though it’s floating on air.. hence it’s name. It’s rounded tail and short length make it incredibly agile and it’s steeper kick tail gives this board excellent pop when launching airs, popping ollies in the flats, dropping cliffs or smacking lips. A versatile board for all around riding that would make an excellent start to a proper powsurf quiver. This board has been tested by the best powsurfers in the world in a wide variety of snow conditions from mucky slush to light and dry powder and it’s handled beautifully. The Flying Carpet has a wide body, so it prefers depths over 5-6 inches but can still be ridden in shallower snow on mellower slopes. Performs well riding backwards but keep the switch turns light as the convex nose can be a little slippy when it becomes your tail while riding backwards. Recommended for US mens boot sizes 9.5-12 and rider weights between 140-210 lbs (72-118kg). * For riders with bigger feet (12+) or for those who ride light/dry/deep pow and want ridiculously good float, speed and agility in a smaller package be sure to check out the “wide” & “X-wide” options. If you are not sure what width will be the best powsurfer for you contact us and we are happy to help. “Drop”, “Elders” & “Pleyewood” graphic by Nate Reifke | “Tree” graphic by Mark Kowalchuk

Greetings from Norway! I just wanted to tell you that the board is amazing! I feel like a pro using it and can surf down terrain and snow conditions I was not able to before. The boards I built myself were quite heavy and I really love how light this is, both for the hike up, but also the responsiveness for the ride down. The foam grip is fantastic, my feet are glued on the board. he shape and channels work really well in the tight, steep forest I have tested it in so far. I was amazed by what mixed snow this board could handle. The combination of shape, grip and responsiveness is amazing in tight steep and less than perfect conditions.

The Flying Carpet 140cm is truly magical! I’m a bigger guy and it still floats on top of the snow here in the sierras like you wouldn’t believe. It’s playful in more mellow terrain, but handles itself in steep, technical situations. I’ve owned 3 different powsurfers and this is my go to board for almost any situation. #quiverkiller

I love my Grassroots boards (140 Slasher, 140 Flying Carpet and 140 Flying Carpet Splitsurfer)- and heres why. In a world that grows more complex every day, Grassroots brings joy into my life in the most simple way, sliding down the mountain on a piece of wood. Even mellow terrain is fun, but bagging bigger lines leaves a mark on the soul when you look back at your tracks. I can’t get that feeling from my snowboard. It’s also nice to see a brand that isn’t hell bent on making and selling as many boards as humanly possible – quality first!

I’ve tried most every powsurfer or snowsurfer out there (homemade, double deckers, aesmo, shark, jones and your original flat design) and the 3D FC is the best board I’ve ridden so far, thanks for all the R&D!!!

Fast and floaty but still plenty maneuverable in tight Vermont trees. Hands down my favorite board in the quiver. It lays some serious trenches in the steep/deep, and it’s the fastest board in my quiver which is great for mellow laps on low angle terrain! My friend Max bought one right when the shape was created and after one run on a Flying Carpet I knew I had to have one of my own for the quiver! This was my first powsurfer. It has great float on deep powder days and continues to deliver so much fun. I’m 6’2 and weigh 185lbs. This ride is a little bit slower than my 150cm Flying Carpet, but allows for exceptional control in the deep.
