***For some people the Grassroots splitsurfer is a great option but for some riders in certain places around the globe the solid powsurfers and a pair of Verts or Drift Boards may be a better answer. It all depends on your backcountry access routes and the terrain you frequent the most. Feel free to contact us for advice on what is best for you and your environment.

review of 150cm slasher splitsurf.
having rode this board in some different conditions and snow depths now i can say this board is way too much fun to ride and is so good on the way up too! it is very light and agile on the skin track. i use spark bindings and put them in my backpack for the ride down. the board is very responsive and easily controlled in fresh or soft snow as little as 4 inches deep on a solid base. you could probly ride it in less but i tried in a dust on crust situation and it didnt work out for me but my skills were also not dialed in yet.. i learned to ride on smaller easily hikeable hills after work in 4-8 inches of fresh or soft days old snow before i charged a bigger line in a foot of fresh snow. this board really is a treat to ride in deeper fresh snow and i had the 2 raddest runs of my life! the feeling of slashing pow on this board is unmatched and a feeling you just cant get being strapped in with bindings. its unreal. the feeling is amazing and im so hooked now! any time there is 4 or more inches this is my go to board now. its too much fun up and down!! dont wait just get one already!! thank you Jeremy and grassroots for the raddest board in my quiver!!

I love my Grassroots boards (140 Slasher, 140 Flying Carpet & 140 Flying Carpet Splitsurfer)- and heres why. In a world that grows more complex every day, Grassroots brings joy into my life in the most simple way, sliding down the mountain on a piece of wood. Even mellow terrain is fun, but bagging bigger lines leaves a mark on the soul when you look back at your tracks. I can’t get that feeling from my snowboard. It’s also nice to see a brand that isn’t hell bent on making and selling as many boards as humanly possible – quality first!
