Description
This low profile Retractable Powsurf Leash is choice for the rider who wants minimal interference from the tether. The thin webbing is barely noticeable as you ride and stays out of the way, allowing the rider to spin and flip the board underfoot with minimal resistance.
Attach the Retractable Powsurf Leash at your waist to keep it off the ground & prevent snagging on trees and rocks. (Never attach a leash to your leg or ankle) This leash stretches to 16 feet to allow the board to be at a safe distance from the rider in the event of a fall. This leash clips to your belt and is hardly noticeable on your waist. Super easy on/off clip and when disconnected from the board it retracts back into the casing and is out of your way.
If you powsurf or travel in avalanche terrain we highly recommend using this leash in conjunction with our Grassroots Safety Belt – Quick Release Belt so you have the ability to quickly disconnect the leash from your body in the even of an avalanche or bad fall/tangle. It is also available with our Quick-release mechanism for easy release in the event of an avalanche or bad fall/tangle.
We’ve tested over 20 different retractable “dog leashes” to build off of and this is by far the most durable and functional. Be careful of other brands as we have lost many boards down the hill due to cheap versions breaking!
There is no “recoil” that will send the board flying back at the rider, however on a bad enough fall where the 16 ft length is reached, the board could be pulled in the rider’s direction. As with surfing there is always the possibility of being hit by the board on a fall, but this system minimizes that risk.
Body Dimensions: 4″ x 5″ x 1″ Weight 200 grams

I ran the coil style for a couple years and it was a game changer moving to the retractable leash. So much less fuss than I was dealing with before. Easily clip off and the leash is out of the way! Made sled surfing a million times faster and no more worries of leashes caught up in my track. You also can’t even feel the thing, whereas my coil was always flapping and banging against my leg and getting caught up in my hands while I rode. Much safer without the re-coil I experienced with the coiled style leashes.

The only way to do it. Safer, less in the way and super easy transition. When I fall in front of the board I feel a lot safer knowing I have a few extra feet before I hit the end of the leash and the board comes for me!
