Description
The Slasher 140cm Powsurfer is one of the most versatile boards in our line. A great all around board that is very easy to learn on and with added control of our CDC 3-Dimensional Base Technology you can get as aggressive as possible on it. The elongated nose outline puts more of the width and volume under the weight of the rider allowing for better planing and less drag in the tail. This makes for better floatation and in turn better edge to edge performance. We’ve blended a few of the characteristics from traditional snowboard shape outline and sidecut but infused powsurf characteristics that have been rigorously tested in our 17 years of shaping and powsurfing. The 3-D base gives this board even better float and control while contributing to the surf-like feel that we love so much.
The Slasher 140cm Powsurfer performs best in 5″ or more soft snow and up to 16″ of light and dry duff, but can manage 2-3″ of more dense snow once your skills are dialed. If mainly riding in shallow snow and/or variable conditions check out the “Narrow” and “X-Narrow” version of the Slasher or the Barracuda models for best performance in shallow, thick and variable conditions. These two narrower options are also great boards for female riders and youth ages 11-14.
Recommended width sizing:
“Standard” – US Men’s boot sizes: 9-13 / Weight: 130-230 lbs (200 lbs and up recommended for new snow between 4-9″)
“Narrow” width – US Men’s boot sizes 7-9 / Weight: 100-160 lbs ***Excellent Pick for Female riders***
“X-Narrow” width US Men’s boot 6-8 / Weight: 90-130 lbs. ***Excellent Pick for Female riders***

Eeey!
this is the first time I’ve tested powsurf in the mountains, I have to say the slasher board you’ve made is insanely good to ride!

Been taking my 140cm Slasher walking the dog—just short, low angle hills, some trees, 5-6 inches fresh is “nice snow”. I hadn’t been on a board for more than 20 years, but jumped on and made turns right away. Such fun…just what I wanted to have around. Now for a dedicated bc day…thx grassroots. Dog loves it too!

Snow finally came to France, and I’ve been able to test my Slasher. Such a killer! I can’t remove the smile from my face, and I keep thinking to the next ride.
In 2 words : “Thank you!”

I am 12 years old, 5’ tall, and 85lbs. I have tried a couple of different boards, and the 140 slasher is my absolute favorite for the deep days. While the 120 Slasher is better for me on shallow days when I need to sink in a little and have some grip, the 140 is my go to on deeper powder days. It is a ton of fun to ride and helps me keep up with my dad.

I am 6’1 (73cm) 180 pounds (78kg). My foot is size 13. The Slasher 140 is my go to for pow days between 2 and 7 inches. It crushes steep and tight couloirs as well. It is agile, quick, and poppy. The 3D base floats like a surfboard. It is too small for me for sure on the deep days with mellow terrain but this board will always be a part of the quiver. I found myself choosing the Slasher more often then not over my FC 140 on longer tours with variable conditions. It has gotten me through some really rotten snowpacks that I am convinced no other powsurf could have. It’s a great choice to sneak into tight little stashes or tight tree lines. My wife and 12 year old son rip the Slasher 140 way better then me on the deep days. A great choice to learn on but also an advanced all mountain crusher. I can’t say enough great things about the customer service and creativity of this small local business. Thanks Grassroots!

Just wanted to let you know I am so impressed with my Slasher! The Burton Backseat Driver has nothing on your boards. Not even a comparison.
Went for a tour today and had the powsurfer in the car and saw this amazing powder field down the road and had to stop and take some turns. So good!
Hoping to find some steeper terrain tomorrow to play around in.

YA YA… 2 seasons now my old ball and chain boards just sit in the garage collecting dust. New life for an old surfer land locked in interior AK. Thx Grassroots!

Hello, I just returned from a week at Baldface where we were doing some R&D and a catalog shoot. The conditions were all time which meant as much Powsurfing as we could possibly handle. We had about 4 different Powsurf boards on our cat from a few different brands and my choice after riding all of them was by far the Grassroots boards that were up there. It got to the point where we had to play paper rock scissors to see who got to ride the Grassroots boards!!!
I just wanted to say thanks for making great product.

I love my Grassroots boards (140 Slasher, 140 Flying Carpet & 140 Flying Carpet Splitsurfer)- and heres why. In a world that grows more complex every day, Grassroots brings joy into my life in the most simple way, sliding down the mountain on a piece of wood. Even mellow terrain is fun, but bagging bigger lines leaves a mark on the soul when you look back at your tracks. I can’t get that feeling from my snowboard. It’s also nice to see a brand that isn’t hell bent on making and selling as many boards as humanly possible – quality first!

I finally got the chance to test the board yesterday. I had seen all the Grassroots videos, so I knew the potential. But the big question was: Will I be able to ride it? How hard is it? I`m just a mediocre snowboarder.
But the control was just AMAZING! I wish my snowboard would float like this! And the skate/surf-like feeling was all true! OMG! It took me three runs before I stopped laughing all the way back to the top. Now I constantly look at the mountains to find new lines. The pow surf has opened up a lot of new areas in the mountains that I didn’t` find interesting before.
So, bottom line: I love it! And I think the slasher was a good choice. Hopefully you`ll get some more orders from Romsdalen, Norway in the nearest future!
